Yllasrinne Christmas Itinerary 24th – 27th December 2008

24 Dec, Wednesday - Christmas Eve
0730 depart UK, arrive Lapland 1300 local time (time difference 2 hours)
1430 arrive Yllasrinne hotel, collection of thermal overalls and boots at hotel, check in and lunch
1600 Depart for Magic Forest. Lappish shaman will greet you and give you a blessing before you enter the forest. We heard that Santa will still be in his cabin just before his longest journey in the year and agreed to meet with all the families that came to see him from far away. Santa will discuss children’s letters and children’s Christmas wish lists. Children can drive mini snowmobiles and toboggan. We arranged for tandem skiing and tobogganing too! Make ginger bread cookies and Christmas decorations. Warm drinks and snacks are served in the log cabin in the forest.
Afterwards join in traditional lighting of the candles in anticipation of Christmas.
2100 Dinner

25 Dec, Thursday - Christmas Day
0800-1000 Breakfast
1030 Depart for a Christmas morning reindeer safari through the snowy Lappish scenery. Arrive to reindeer herder’s cabin and join for more snow fun activities, tandem skiing, children snowmobiling, tobogganing, snow shoe walking
1300-1500 Christmas lunch in hotel. Buffet style and combination of traditional Finnish and international dishes.
Deserved afternoon rest!
1700 Depart for a husky dog farm where you will learn about the lives of the huskies. Take part in husky dog sleigh rides through the wintry Lappish countryside (3km). Once all families have taken part in the ride we will visit traditional Lappish tepee restaurant nearby.
1930 Traditional Lappish Dinner in Lappish tepee. Your Lappish host will greet you and prepare meals in front of you on open fire.
2130 Return to hotel

26 Dec, Friday
0800-1000 Breakfast
Free time to spend with your family or alternatively take an optional excursion. These can be pre-booked (recommended) or arranged in the resort with Magic of Lapland representative.
1300 Lunch at Yllasrinne hotel restaurant
1400 Depart for the Snowmobile safari through unspoilt Lappish wilderness. Adults share one snowmobile. Children are pulled in sleighs behind. Stop in the forest to BBQ sausages on open fire and warm up with the tea, coffee and warm juice.
1900 Dinner at Yllasrinne restaurant

27 Dec, Saturday
0800-1000 Breakfast
1200 Check-out and transfer to airport
1430 Return flight home
1530 Arrive in UK
