Kakslauttanen Cabin Village and Glass Igloos
Kakslauttanen Village is situated in northeastern Lapland 20km from Saariselka village and 40km from the nearest town. It consists of 31 cabins, 20 snow igloos, 20 glass igloos, ice chapel and a snow restaurant. Cabins vary in size and can sleep between 2 and 6 persons. All cabins are built from log wood and stone. The glass igloos are built from special thermal glass which maintains indoor temperature and are situated in a more secluded location and sleep up to 2 persons. Snow igloos (made of ice and snow) are also available for those who wish to experience the igloo in its truest form. Temperatures in the igloo are between -3 to -6 degrees and all clients are provided with a sleeping bag, woolen socks and a hood.
Available to use is also a large smoke sauna and an ice hole nearby in case you wish to take a dip in the freezing waters as the Finns do.
All cabins have: shower, WC, sauna, fireplace and kitchenette (sleep between 2 and 6 persons)
All glass igloos have: WC and twin beds (sleep up to 2 persons)
All snow igloos have: ice bed and light (sleep between 1 and 5 persons)
