Magic of Lapland day trips are based in wilderness location in Lapland, Yllas area. Lapland day trips are popular way of visiting Lapland and Father Christmas. It is an early start and late finish of a busy day that enables you to sample Lappish traditions, experience Lapland, snow and visit Father Christmas in his secret hideaway. Magic of Lapland day trips operate in maximum of 90 clients on the day and each family is guaranteed individual visit to Santa in his cabin in magic forest. Magic of Lapland day trips to Lapland operate in uncommercialised area, that are for sole use of Magic of Lapland clients with the electricity only in the log cabin where the food is served. Forest and snow paths are lit with candles and log fires as we we aim to create an authentic atmosphere and experience of Lapland at its best.

Day Break - flow of the day

At the check-in in UK you will be met by Magic of Lapland customer liaison agent who supervises check-in. At check-in in UK you will also receive your boarding passes for the return journey. Please keep them safe as you will need to show them at Kittila airport in Lapland before boarding the aircraft. Seats are assigned and you will be pre-seated in the same seats for the outbound and inbound flight. Please always occupy the same seat on the return flight as on your outbound flight. All our flights are escorted by Magic of Lapland representative.

On arrival to Lapland you are met by Lappish hosts and directed to coach. Collection of thermal clothing is arranged in safari house on route to Magic forest. You will receive a bag for your own outer clothing (jacket and shoes). You need to wear your own clothes underneath the thermal clothing. You will be asked to leave the bag with your own clothes at the airport before you board the coach for the Magic Forest. The building is supervised however; we suggest that you do not leave any valuables or your passports in the bag.

After changing into thermal clothing we take you to the wilderness location - Magic forest where you spend the day at leisure and take activities in your own time. We arrange for snowmobile rides (children too!), husky dog ride, tobogganing, snow shoe walking, tandem skiing, reindeer ride to visit Santa, make gingerbread cookies and have Lappish hosts show you how to make traditional Lappish Christmas decorations. Simple lunch (vegetable creamy soup), hot drinks and coffee are served throughout the day. You will also have an opportunity to BBQ sausages on an open fire. Small selection of traditional Lappish souvenirs is available to buy at the log cabin shop next to the main log cabin. You will be given specific time at which you are scheduled to visit Father Christmas. This means no queuing and no worry about missing the main event.

Letters to Santa Children's letters to Santa can be sent to us and Magic of Lapland arrange that these are delivered to Lapland in time for your visit. Alternatively you can bring your children's letters to Santa with you on the day of travel and pass it to our representative on the coach on your way to Magic forest.

Lapland Day Trip Itinerary - Lapland Magic Forest
0730 You fly out to Kittila airport (flight time 3.5 hours) in Lapland, Finland and arrive at 1300 local time (Finland is two hours ahead of UK)
1300 Change into thermal clothing at the airport. Coach transfer to the Magic forest (40 min)
1430-1500 Arrive at Magic forest and join in activities that include reindeer ride to Santa's cabin and private family meeting with Santa. Pass the Lappish ceremony and spend the day at leisure. Enjoy snowmobile and husky dog ride, snow fun activities, make gingerbread cookies and Christmas decorations. Lunch is served throughout the day.
