Day 1
0700-1300 (time difference - Finland is 2 hours ahead of UK) You are greeted at the airport by Magic of Lapland representative before you fly out to Kittila (3,5 hours flight time). On arrival to Lapland, guided transfer to Akaslompolo (approximately 50 mins). En-route to hotel you collect thermal clothing and are transferred to Yllashumina Log Cabin Hotel. Lunch at the hotel. Check-in.
1700 - Transfer to a husky dog farm for a husky dog safari (5km). This is one of the best husky dog farms in Lapland and is home to over 100 huskies. It is set in the forest and is secluded. Some of the race dogs are closely related to the Iditarod - Alaskan husky dog race - champions. On arrival you are greeted by husky dog owners and of course plenty of barking. Huskies are eager to pull and after receiving driving instructions you will drive your own team of huskies. Although dogs know their way through the forest route is supervised by husky dog farm staff. In the wooden tepee you will warm around the fire where coffee and warm juice with ginger bread cookies are served after the activity.
1900- Dinner at Yllashumina restaurant
Day 2
0800 - 1000 - Breakfast
1015 - Transfer to Lapp Village ( approximately 5 minutes by coach) for a day full of activities with Arctic circle ceremony, snow fun activities - tandem skiing, snowshoe walking, kick sledging, tobogganing and children's snowmobiling. Make gingerbread cookies and Christmas decorations in Poro restaurant in LappVillage. Lunch is served throughout the day. You will receive an invite from Santa with your scheduled time for a visit. Your search for Santa starts with snowmobile ride of approximately 20 minutes, followed by a reindeer ride. Santa's cabin is in the forest and secluded and each family is guaranteed private audience. Santa reads children's letters and each child receives soft toy as a gift from Santa.
1800 - Meet for welcome drinks in Humina pub
1900 - Festive dinner at Yllashumina restaurant. Festive dinner is buffet style and is a combination of international and Finnish traditional dishes.
Day 3
0800 - 1000 - Breakfast
Morning free
1200 - Check-out (you leave your luggage in Humina pub that in your absence remains locked)
1200-1300 - Lunch at hotel
1300 - Snowmobile safari through unspoilt Lappish wilderness. After receiving driving instruction and safety equipment and advise you set off for a wilderness snowmobile safari. Two adults share snowmobile and children (and those who do not wish to drive) are pulled in the sleigh behind the snowmobiles. With 25 km to conquer we stop in the forest for warm drinks and snack. As there are two adults per snowmobile, drivers can swap after the stop. On return to hotel you leave thermal clothing in Humina pub and collect your luggage ready for transfer to airport.
1730 - Depart for airport (short stop on route for souvenir shopping)
2000 - Return flight to UK
2130 - Arrive UK
Outdoor facilities at the hotel include tobogganing and a ski shop from which snow shoes, kick sparks and cross country skis can be rented at extra cost. If you wish to visit local shop or supermarket you can rent kick sparks (similar to kick sledges) and use them as a means of transport or walk (approximately 20-25 minutes). In your free time you may decide to take optional excursions at extra cost (please see below) or book (at extra cost) guided cross country skiing departing from hotel. You may wish to visit domestic animals zoo just 800 m away from hotel with more than 100 animals. To name a few: reindeer, goat, pig, sheep, highland cattle, rabbits, cats, dogs, ostriches and many birds. You can also see the world's largest and smallest horse and endangered North-Finnish cattle.

Husky Farm Visit and Sleigh Safari - visit to a farm with Alaskan and Siberian huskies. Take a 9km ride, learn to steer the sleigh. Hear about the life of husky dogs. Duration: 2.5 hours Price: Adult £ 125, Child £ 95.
Snow Shoe Trip - walk through the forest in snow shoes as the ancient Finns did on wooden skis. Walk through snowy forest for 3 km. Stop for hot drinks on an open fire. Duration: 2.5 hour Price: Adult/Child: £50.
Ice Fishing - Having drilled a hole in the ice sit back with hot drink and wait to see who brings in the best catch. Duration: 2 hours Price: Adult/Child £50
Cross Country Skiing School for Families - Learn basic cross country skiing techniques and head out on a short trip on maintained ski tracks Duration: 2 hours Price: Adult/Child £ 50
