Luxury Lapland - Ylläs Luxury Cabins
Magic of Lapland offers two high quality cabins built from log wood and in a tradition style with fully modern furnishings. Meals are prepared in the cabin by our catering company and dinner consists of a three course meal with a selection of dishes.
Kyro Cabin
Sleeping up to 12 this log wood cabin is built in a traditional style with modern features. Located in a secluded area surrounded by few cabins this cabin has the forest on its doorstep.
Area: 210 square metres
Bedrooms: 4 bedrooms (8 beds), 4 extra beds
Cabin facilities: fully equipped kitchen, sauna, fireplace, shower, jacuzzi, WC, TV, hair dryer, drying cabinet. Toboggans are available in all cabins to use in your free time.
Riiko Big and Small Cabins
2 cabins one sleeping up to 7 and with 2 bedrooms and the other up to 10 persons with 3 bedroom, both cabins are made of dried pine wood cabin is built in a traditional style with feature wooden beams. Located 50m from ski resort this cabin allows easy access to skiing.
Area: 90m2/140m2, open plan
Bedrooms: 2 bedrooms (4 beds), 3 beds on mezzanine/ 3 bedrooms (6 beds), 4 beds on mezzanine.
Cabin facilities: fully equipped kitchen, sauna, fireplace, shower, WC, TV, hair dryer, drying cabinet. Cot, high chair and DVD player are available on request and at extra cost. Toboggans are available in all cabins to use in your free time.

Ylläs Luxury Cabins, Ylläsjarvi, Lapland - December Pre-Christmas Itinerary (departures 3 and 7 December 2011)
Day 1 - Saturday 3 or Wednesday 7 December
Scheduled flight with Finnair via Helsinki from either Manchester or London Heathrow to Kittilä Lapland. Please refer to your flight ticket for exact flight times and numbers. Arrival in Kittilä Lapland at approx. 1750. On arrival to Lapland transfer to Ylläsjarvi and the cabin of you choice with a stop en-route to collect thermal clothing (transfer time approximately 35 mins). Dinner prepared in cabin by our catering company.
Day 2 - Sunday 4 or Thursday 8 December
0800 - 1000 Breakfast in cabin.
1015 Transfer to Magic Forest (approximately 20 minutes by coach) for Arctic circle ceremony, reindeer safari of 20 mins and snow fun activities - tandem skiing, snowshoe walking, kick sledging, tobogganing and children's snowmobiling. Make gingerbread cookies and Christmas decorations. Lunch is served throughout the day. You will receive an invite from Santa with your scheduled time for a visit. Santa's cabin is in the forest and each family is guaranteed private audience. Santa reads children's letters and each child receives soft toy as a gift from Santa.
1800 - 2000 Dinner in cabin.
Day 3 - Monday 5 or Friday 9 December
0800 - 1000 Breakfast in cabin.
1000 Depart for a husky safari through the wintry Lappish countryside (5km).
1200-1300 Light lunch in cabin.
1500 25km snowmobile safari through the unspoilt Lappish wilderness. After receiving driving instruction and safety equipment and advise you set off for a wilderness snowmobile safari. Two adults share snowmobile and children (and those who do not wish to drive) are pulled in the sleigh behind the snowmobiles. Stop in the forest for warm drinks and snack. As there are two adults per snowmobile, drivers can swap after the stop.
1800 - 2000 Dinner in cabin.
Day 4 - Tuesday 6 or Saturday 10 December
0800 - 1000 Breakfast in cabin.
1100 Check-out and transfer to airport for return flight from Lapland. Arrival back in UK approx. 1700.

Ylläs Luxury Cabins, Ylläsjarvi, Lapland - December Pre-Christmas Itinerary (departures between 10 and 20 December 2011)
Day 1
0700-0800 flights usually depart for Lapland from London Gatwick. Flight times is approximately 3.5 hours. On arrival to Lapland transfer to Ylläsjarvi and the cabin of your choice with a stop en-route to collect thermal clothing (transfer time approximately 35 mins). You will receive a guided tour of the cabin. Light lunch is served in the cabin.
1730 Depart for a husky dog safari where you will learn about the lives of the huskies (5km)
1930 Dinner served in the cabin
Day 2
0800 - 1000 Breakfast in the cabin
1000 You will be collected from your cabin for a 20-30 minute reindeer ride (2km) that will take you through the snowy landscape to the reindeer herders' cabins and the Magic Forest. Join in tandem skiing, snow shoe walking and tobogganing. BBQ sausages on open fire. Children can drive mini snowmobiles, make Christmas decorations and ginger bread cookies. Meet Santa on an individual family basis in his cabin in the forest where he has stopped for a rest. Santa reads children's letters and gives them each a small soft toy gift. A simple Lappish lunch is served in the cabin in the forest. Coffee, tea, warm juice and gingerbread cookies are served throughout your stay in the forest. On the way back to the cabin stop for souvenir shopping. Return to cabin at approximately
1600 - 1900 Dinner served in the cabin
Day 3
0800 - 1000 Breakfast in the cabin Morning free You may wish to take one of the optional activities (see below) or try downhill skiing at the nearby ski centre. Both ski school and equipment rental are available. Alternatively you can just enjoy snow and tobogganing.
1200-1300 Check out ( you will be asked to leave your luggage in the safari house)
1300 After receiving safety and driving instructions you depart for a snowmobile safari. Adults can drive snowmobiles through the Lappish countryside and forests, whilst children and those who do not wish to drive are pulled behind in sleighs. Stop in the forest for lunch in the kota (Lappish tepee). After lunch adults who wish to have a faster ride (without sleighs pulled behind) are welcome to join instructor for a second drive through the forest. Those who stay behind can toboggan and sit around the fire on this authentic and secluded venue. At least one adult must stay with the children. Warm juice, coffee and ginger bread cookies are served throughout the stay in the forest.
1730 Depart for Kittilä airport, Lapland
2000 (approx.) - Return flight to UK from Lapland
2130 (approx.) - Arrive UK
N.B. 20-23 December break itinerary is 3 nights and 4 days. The itinerary is the same as above with Day 3 being free and activities on Day 3 moving to Day 4.
Optional Activities Available at Extra Cost For Free Morning
Husky Farm Visit and Sleigh Safari - visit to a farm with Alaskan and Siberian huskies. Take a 9km ride, learn to steer the sleigh. Hear about the life of husky dogs. Duration: 2.5 hours Price: Adult £125, Child £95.
Snow Shoe Trip - walk through the forest in snow shoes as the ancient Finns did on wooden skis. Walk through snowy forest for 3 km. Stop for hot drinks on an open fire. Duration: 2.5 hour Price: Adult/Child: £50
Ice skating - (previous experience is essential) on designated 6km track on Ylläsjarvi lake. Transfer from Saaga hotel or your cabin and rental of ice skating equipment is included. Price on request.
Snow Flake Excursion - Snow fun in Ylläsjarvi village, near the frozen lake. Children can test their snowmobile driving skills in a specifically marked area and under the supervision of local staff. There is also an opportunity for tobogganing, kick-sledging, skiing on mini skis and snow shoe walking. BBQ sausages on open fire and warm up with hot berry juice in a log cabin near the lake. Duration: 1.5 hours Price: Adult/ Child £32 This excursion is suitable for children 2 – 12 years of age. Children must be accompanied and supervised with at least one adult from their own party, who do not need to take part in activities.

Day 4 - Monday 26 December
0800 - 1000 Breakfast in the cabin
