Nivunki Village
A peaceful retreat shaped by wilderness, tradition and genuine Lappish hospitality
Hidden beside a frozen lake in the forests of western Lapland, Nivunki Village offers a wonderfully secluded base for an Arctic escape. The atmosphere is quiet and unhurried, with attentive local hosts, memorable wilderness experiences and a strong connection to the traditions of the surrounding landscape. Days can be spent exploring by husky sled, reindeer sleigh or snowmobile, while evenings bring warming Finnish sauna rituals, thoughtfully prepared Lappish cuisine and the possibility of the Northern Lights appearing overhead.
The Northern Lights Kotas
Inspired by the traditional shelters once used throughout Lapland, Nivunki’s Northern Lights Kotas combine distinctive local design with modern comfort. Each 30 m² kota is created for 1 or 2 guests, with a king-size bed positioned beneath expansive glass windows, allowing you to watch the stars and, with luck, the Northern Lights from the warmth of your room. A private bathroom with rain shower, bathrobes and thoughtful in-room amenities make the kotas an inviting place to retreat after a day in the wilderness.
