Nestled on a peaceful hillside beside the gently flowing Äkäsjoki River, Riekko Lodge lies just 5 km north of the village of Äkäslompolo in the heart of Ylläs. Surrounded by tall pines and sweeping fell landscapes, this secluded retreat offers a sense of calm and space that perfectly captures the spirit of Finnish Lapland. Far from the bustle of the village, yet ideally placed for Arctic adventures, the lodge provides an intimate setting where nature, silence and winter magic come together in perfect harmony.
There are two cabin types available: Kukas Cabins with one bedroom and a mezzanine, and larger Äkäs Cabins with two bedrooms and a mezzanine. All cabins feature a comfortable living area, a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom with shower, WC and private sauna, a drying cabinet, private patio, complimentary Wi-Fi and Smart TV.
The Kukas Cabins include one double bedroom downstairs with an ensuite toilet, and a mezzanine with two single beds. The Äkäs Cabins offer two bedrooms downstairs (one double and one twin), a mezzanine with two single beds and an additional separate toilet.

we do not recommend that children under 6 months travel to Lapland. Please note that participation in safaris for children between the ages of 6 months and 2 years is weather dependent and will be up to the discretion of the local guides who will assess the safety of the activity at the time. If the infant cannot part-take in a safari, one adult will need to stay behind with them. Infants can still participate in the Santa activity day and visit Santa.
