After a 15 minute transfer to a local husky farm, we will meet the musher and his Arctic dogs. First, we learn how to steer the husky sleigh and get on the path of the first explorers with a 10-km husky safari through the magnificent taiga forest and frozen marsh. Two passengers are sharing the sleigh taking turns in driving. After the ride the musher talks about the life of the dogs by an open fire where we enjoy a hot drink and biscuits.

Join our professional ice fishing guide to the frozen wilderness lake in the middle of the forest. Here you can learn how to lure the fish from under the ice with special ice fishing gear. On this trip you can really enjoy the silence and tranquillity of the winter nature. Warm up by campfire with hot drinks.

Suitable whether you are a total beginner, or you need to refresh your skills. We will start in Ylläsjärvi village where the well-maintained ski trail passes by. Our guide will teach you the movement for skiing classic style and will also give you tips if you want to go skating style.
During the session, we will stop for a hot drink and biscuits before putting the skis back on and sliding towards the village with style!
The track is illuminated from 6am until 10pm, so after this lesson you will have all the time you need to practice on your own.

With this easy-going safari, in the warmth of our bus, you will get to see the best sceneries Ylläs offers; breath-taking views over the Lappish forest and the National Park hills, rock formations, impressive frozen trees and lakes to name a few. We will stop on the way to take amazing pictures and selfies that you can then happily post on your Instagram. Or keep it all for yourself! Once we reach Äkäslompolo and have about one and a half hours free time for shopping: souvenirs, clothes, sport shop and grocery.
Then it is time to meet up again with your guide and take the transfer back to Ylläsjärvi through the scenic road.

we do not recommend that children under 6 months travel to Lapland. Please note that participation in safaris for children between the ages of 6 months and 2 years is weather dependent and will be up to the discretion of the local guides who will assess the safety of the activity at the time. If the infant cannot part-take in a safari, one adult will need to stay behind with them. Infants can still participate in the Santa activity day and visit Santa.
